Test drive: Mazda 6
Thursday February 24, 2005
The Mazda 626 was one of my favorite performance sedans: Razor-sharp handling in a package that was totally stealth. Its replacement, the new Mazda6, wears sheetmetal more befitting a performance sedan. So much for slipping past the cops. But the Mazda6 certainly has the power and the prowess to back up the look. Phil loved the 6, giving it a perfect score of five stars. (This is Mazda's second five-star coup this month: Colin gave equally high marks to the Mazda3.) I had a short spin in a 6 sedan a few months back. I, too, really enjoyed the way it drove -- but what I really love about the 6 is that it comes in hatchback and wagon versions. Family motoring just keeps getting more and more cool! --Aaron Gold
