Test drive: 2006 Chevrolet Malibu
Wednesday March 15, 2006
I can't recall growing up with a Malibu around. I know the model was always around, but I can't recall anyone I know having one while I was growing up. And as an adult ("adult" some would say), I still can't think of a single person who has one. That doesn't necessarily say anything -- the Malibu could easily be a hidden gem. Veteran test driver Jason Fogelson drove one around for a week and think, perhaps, that gem needs to stay hidden. He writes, "Malibu is several steps behind in terms of performance and quality, yet is priced very close to the competition." Can Chevy work double-time to refine this? —Brooklyn Bob

Malibu review
When a car is reviewed I’d like to read a review. Specifics on doing the normal things that a car does when in use. Like, merging on busy freeways, braking, acceleration, actual fuel economy, quietness of the ride, comfort of the ride (does the car take the inevitable bumps well, space, trunk room, prospective ease of repairs and maintenance, expected maintenance problems, options and standard equipment, etc.
John, I take it you read the full review? Anyway, point well taken — and we are looking at alternative review formats that will address just that.
