I've updated the "What to See" section of my LA Auto Show Visitor's Guide. So how was the show? It was... okay. There are some truly exciting cars there, chief among them the Nissan GT-R, Honda FCX Clarity and Subaru WRX STi, but the show was short on world premieres -- many of the introductions were vehicles that had been revealed at earlier shows. I think they may have moved the show back a bit too early -- many auto makers are pushing back their 2008 releases (due to the slow market, I imagine) and no one seems very anxious to take the wraps off their 2009s just yet.

What's next: Lots more photos to be added to the LA Show gallery. Stay tuned! -- Aaron Gold

Hey Aaron. Any idea why the LA show keeps getting earlier? Sounds like they just made themselves irrelevant.

Mike — No clue why they scheduled it when they did. It’ll be interesting to see a) what happens next year and b) if Detroit is any better. Maybe it isn’t the timing — maybe automakers are reeling from a slow-ish 2007.

Thanks for the reply, Aaron. Hmm…well, I guess we’ll see. I think some of us would give our left arm for a chance to go to one of these auto shows even if it was a bit lame. I would have envied you your job too until I saw your post time. 2:58AM? Now that is dedication!!

Don’t get too impressed, Mike. Like a lot of great writers (Poe,Conrad) he’s probably up all night answering blogs, while lamenting long past drives in the Swiss Alps with a cute French girl named Genevieve in the other seat…all with his right hand on the keyboard and his left on a bottle of 20 yr old Hennesy X.O.

I bet you’re right H.D. Geatness has it’s price. At least drinking and blogging is legal…And it’s more fun than blogging alone.
