I'm just putting together my photos and first impressions from the Detroit Auto Show, which I'll post tomorrow. Meanwhile, here's something I thought was pretty cool: The One Club, a non-profit organization that produces The One Show awards for advertising, picked the ten best car commercials of the past quarter-century. You can view the ads on their web site, but in case you have trouble viewing them (as I did -- they don't seem to be small-screen friendly), here is a list, in descending order, with YouTube links:

All in all, a pretty worthy list IMHO -- I'm not a big fan of "Grr" (the silly song gets stuck in my head for days at a stretch) but I love The Force, Toys, and Lamp Post, and Cog is truly one of the classics. Still, I can't see how they missed this one... -- Aaron Gold

Also missed the Nissan “pigeons” commercial that aired during one of the Superbowls …. my personal favorite
Currently VW is runnng the ad with the “spaz dad” teaching his kid how to throw a baseball. That ad is funny!
Just saw the VW “spaz Dad” last night. Almost as cute as “The Force.” Have to say I really liked the Honda Cog vid. Really liked the Accord wagon in it too!!
Aaron, while I liked Beat the Devil as well, my favorite from a watching standpoint had to be Star. Laughed my butt off. For sheer wonder at “how’d they DO that??” Cog takes the cake.
Loved The Force. Have no idea why Grr is rated so highly.
