Snapshot: Everything you've ever heard about a Rolls-Royce is true. This resurrected brand (now owned by BMW) has once again taken its place at the top of the super-luxury cars mountain. This four door sedan is for those who, for the most part, will never drive it.
How Much?: Price for a 2004 Rolls Royce Phantom in the US starts at $320,000.
The Inside Story: There is no way to adequately describe the Rolls-Royce without experiencing it. It has thicker carpeting that your living room, better leather than your any car made today and a price tag that's higher than your home. Oddly, there's more rear leg room in the Lincoln Town Car Ultimate L.
Under the Hood: A BMW V-12 is installed that produces 453 horsepower. Your driver will have to refill after 13 city/19 highway mpg.
Transmissions: The Phantom comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Warranty: Bumper-to-bumper: 3 years/unlimited mileage. Powertrain: 3 years/unlimited mileage.
Should you Buy a 2004 Rolls Royce Phantom?: The question should be, should you buy this over the Maybach? The design takes some getting used to but the Phantom is all about arriving. There is never any question as to what just drove past. When your driver comes around back to open the rear doors (which open properly: clamshell-style) everyone will take notice. The Maybach, on the other hand, is a car with more of everything except presence. And if you want the little people to know the king is here, the Phantom is for you.
